Spread Christmas Cheer NOT Germs!

We take the safety very seriously. To protect you and our staff, we are asking everyone to adhere to the following guidelines.

Santa Claus IS coming to town! Santa's sleigh has been sent to the workshop to be redesigned for guests to sit a safe distance from him during photos. Your whole family can now sit on top of Christmas presents around the sleigh to make a magical memory for your next Christmas card. You will not be required to wear a mask while your picture is being taken, but we ask that you keep those masks handy! Masks are required around all other Winterfest activities.

Guests will no longer wait in lines for Santa photos but instead receive a reservation time to return. To practice social distancing, Winterfest will be assigning reservation times for guests wishing to take photos with Santa. Instead of waiting in line, guests will come to a check-in table to purchase a photo package and the next available return time. Guests can also make reservations ahead of time via our website to save time and add convenience.

Hand Sanitizing stations will be available throughout event locations. Guests are encouraged to regularly wash their hands or use hand sanitizer according to CDC recommendations. Winterfest will have hand sanitizer pumps available throughout event locations with clear signage that will make it easier for guests to locate and use.

Families are encouraged to stay together, distanced from other guests. To maintain proper social distancing, parties are urged to remain a 6 ft distance from other guests or parties at all times. To make this easier on guests, Winterfest will place markers on the ground wherever guests might need to wait in line.

Trolleys will be used on two featured tours. On board our vehicles, family groups and parties will be seated together, away from other parties. Vehicles will be wiped down in between every tour and windows will remain open during the whole journey. All guests over the age of 2 will be required to wear a mask while on board.

Our Polar Express tour lasts approximately 20 minutes and will be on an open-air tram. Performers will not wear masks, but will be positioned a safe distance from guests. Families will be assigned rows of seats when boarding and be asked to wear a face covering while on board.

On the Cajun Christmas Experience, guests will board a trolley for a 5-minute ride to and from the Cajun Santa house in the Historic Village, where guests will disembark to enjoy the festivities. Guests over the age of 2 will be required to wear a face covering while on board. The trolley will return every 30 minutes to take guests back to the Courthouse. Guests can choose to make the 3-block walk back to the Courthouse if they prefer. High-touch areas of the trolleys will be wiped down between tours for extra protection.

Non-Cash Payment is Required Every payment station on Winterfest property will have a card reader to process credit card transactions. For sanitary reasons, we will require guests to use a credit or debit card for payment instead of using cash.

Safety can be fun with Thing 2 and Thing 1!

Santa has recruited Thing 1 and Thing 2 to be safety checkers around the Christmas Plaza. They are very excited to help guests play this new game called “social distancing” and to add some fun to these new guidelines. We know it can be difficult to explain to little ones why there are changes.

These characters will be roaming the courthouse, fully stocked with safety gear, to ensure guests are keeping safe. So watch out! Thing 1 has a measuring tape, and Thing 2 gives out some silly masks. Of course, they will also encourage air-fives, elbow bumps, and Wholiday fun!

We are closely monitoring updates from the CDC on suggested safety. If there are any updates, we will change our policies to ensure this year goes safely and smoothly! You can friend us on Facebook or sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know about any updates.
